1.

8x+5y=3 4x+7y=2 by using subtution method

Answer»

EXPLANATION.

EQUATION are:-

=> 8x + 5y = 3 .... (1)

=> 4x + 7y = 2 ..... (2)

From equation (1)

=> 8x = 3 - 5y

=> x = 3 - 5y / 8 .......(1)

put the value of Equation (1) in equation (2)

we GET,

\bold{ \implies{4 \times  \frac{(3  \:  -  \: 5y)}{8} } + 7y \:  = 2}

\bold{\implies{ \frac{3 \:  -  \: 5y}{2} } \:  +  \: 7y \:  =  \: 2}

\bold{ \implies{3 \:  -  \: 5y} + 14y \:  =  \: 4}

=> 9Y = 1

=> y = 1/9

put the value of y = 1/9 in equation (1)

we get,

=> x = 3 - 5y / 8

\bold{ \implies{x \:  =  \frac{3 \:  -  \: 5 \times  \frac{1}{9} }{8} }}

=> x = 27 - 5 / 9 / 8

=> x = 22 / 9 / 8

=> x = 22/72

=> x = 11 / 36

THEREFORE,

value of x = 11/36 and y = 1/9
