We KNOW that,


a + B = 180° ( As they are a linear pair and are hence SUPPLEMENTARY )


a - b = 100° ( Given in the QUESTION )


Solving the above two equations we get,


a + b = 180

a - b = 100


b gets cancelled. We get,


2a = 280°


=> a = 280° / 2 = 140°


we know that a - b = 100


=> 140 - b = 100


=> 140 - 100 = b


=> 40 = b


Hence the ANGLES are A = 140° and B = 40°.
