Q = mc∆T here, Q = heat energy, m = mass in kg, c = SPECIFIC heat capacity and ∆T = change in temperature in K. hence, 20° C = 293 K and 60° C = 333 K so, we get as, Q = (1 kg) (1 KJ / Kg K)(333 K - 293 K) Q= (1)(1000 J/ Kg K)(40) Q = (40,000 ) Joules hence, the heat gained is => Q = 40 KJ
