To find :-

Solution :-

Let the number be x

  • Twice the number = x × 2 = 2X
  • Thrice the number = x × 3 = 3X
  • And there sum is 100.

So, The equation will be :-

➜ 2x + 3x = 100

➜ 5x = 100

➜ \bf x = \dfrac{100}{5}

➜ x = 20

Therefore, The number is 20.

  1. Twice the number = 20 × 2 = 40.
  2. Thrice the number = 20 × 3 = 60.

Verification :-

➜ 2x + 3x = 100

By placing 20 in place of x, We get :-

➜ 2(20) + 3(20) = 100

➜ 40 + 60 = 100

➜ 100 = 100
