India followed its Policy of Non Alignment which Nehru, Tito ,Nasser and Sukarno[Of India,Yugoslavia, Egypt and Indonesia respectively] had laid foundation of in the Conference at Bandung(Indonesia) in the Year 1954. I think that this Policy did not help India’s interest at all. Both the large Powers looked at India with Doubt and Irritation whereas our arch Rival Pakistan benefited a lot by towing the American line. Anyway a Good Sense finally dawned upon our Policy makers(a bit too late though) when during the time of Congress rule Prime Minister Manmohan Singh signed the famous Atomic Treaty with the Mighty USA when President George Bush (Junior) came to India specifically only for it. Luckily PM Narendra Modi did not change the Good Work started by the Congress Party and followed it up by signing several Treaties with the U.S in Various Important Fields and the Shining Results are there before us to See, Admire and Feel Good about.
