Let the price of an audio cassette and a video cassette be RS. x and Rs. y resp.

therefore,

2x+3y=340.....(i) and

3x+2y=260.....(ii)

Now, on multiplying (i) by 3 and (ii) by 2, we get,

6x+9y=1020 ......(III)

and

6x+4y=520.....(IV)

Therefore, on subtracting (iii) & (iv), we get,

5y=500

y=500/5

y=100

put the value of y in (i), we get,

2x+300=340

2x=340-300=40

x=40/2

x=20

thus, the price of audio cassette = Rs, x = Rs. 20 and

the price of video cassette = Rs. y = Rs. 100
