1. A chord of a circle of radius 8cm subtends an angle of 60°. Find the area of the minor segment.

Answer»

Area = theeta/360°x( πr^2)60/360(22/7

Given, radius of circle (r) = 6 cm

Angle of the sector (θ) = 60°

Now, area of sector = (θ/360°) * πr2

= (60°/360°) * (22/7) * 62

= (1/6) * (22/7) * 6 * 6

= (22/7) * 6

= 132/7 cm2
